Dried rodent anyone

 Today the dog found a sizable Rat pancake, a baby field mouse and a dried out half rat. It is a good sign the poison bait is working but we need to be careful where the rat walk off to die. If only they would kindly remove themselves from our property before dying.

Airing out Raygun

In the instruction manual it recommends airing out the Raygun after each kill.  Luckily it was a dry wipe rather than a wet wipe out as on eif the Electric chairs is powered. The results could be effective though....

Nossy means business

Nossy takes a messy hit. After checking the trap today the humane trap Nossy had killed a rat.  Unfortunately it looked more like a crime scene. It did the job but I am planning to put down cardboard for next time as the rat left blood on the concrete.

Big Daddy

 Tonight i came home to discover a big rat in hiding in the corner. The dog was barking at something and when i checked it out I saw a big ugly rat. I wondered it was possum but it wasn't to be. I dropped Storm bait by it and somehow got the rat into an old 10L paint can. I jumped out but i regathered it and got it to our reserve next door. I threw some rat bait in the direction if the trees. I have to say its time a rethink in the war on rats. We might need to add a measure of outside traps that are dog friendly on the property and on the reserve.

Good ole ratbait

 The traditional rat bat has taken a win. I sleek rat was laying out in the garden. Im not sure how the dog missed the corpse but it was great to see a win for the rat bait. If i find another rat Ill have a pair for slippers

Rats on tour staying in a Weetbix Box hotel

 Storing wood under the house has turned out to be not such a great idea. We have 50 boxes of firewood under the house. When i was under the house i could hear a scratching in a box. When i investigated further a Weetbix carton box had bite marks through it. Inside a saw a head pop up. I put the lid on the box and took it outside away from the house. When i up ended the box a rat ran out, then another, then another and finally the mother of all rats jumped from the box. I have listed the wood on Trademe to remove the nice winter home for rats.
